The project brief for this game was to create a "Shoot-em-up" style game. The initial design of the game was sparked from not wanting it to be like the provided project base (space shooter), so i came up with the idea of bringing it back to earth with the player trying to drive away from waves of enemies and shooting them as to not crash. Throughout development I came up with idea of having an added element to this very basic game so far; the storm. The storm gets closer and closer but if the player can destroy some enemies they can get further away from the storm. This mechanic helped to force players to play risky and destroy enemies to escape the storm. Unlike other shoot-em-ups, the score wasn't based on the enemies you killed but how far you got.
