Rose Redemption - 2018

"You control our forces... you control the balance"

This project required creating a game from three given word prompts: Rose, Spam, Balance

​

For this game we did some research into the real meaning and possible symbolism behind each of the given words. For "Balance" we decided that it should be the main mechanic of the game, having a very balanced and fair choice for both the player and AI. "Rose" was discovered to be a symbol of peace, to which paired with balanced created an idea of restoring balance to create peace. Lastly was the curveball, "Spam". From the previous idea we thought having some sort of space war to which the player had to fight back to reach peace with the aliens, however spam lead us towards War. Spam was a common source of food during the war and this idea included all the key words.

Rose Redemption is a turn-based strategy game where the player has to analyse what the enemy is attacking with to make the best possible attack. For this game there was 4 different types of troups (and coresponding attacks): Infantry, Artillery, Snipers and Air Support. Infantry is nuetral but the other three have bonuses for attacking with the right forces:

      Artillery   =>   Snipers

       Snipers   =>   Air Support

Air Support   =>   Artillery
